Marquis Gets His 100th Win!

Jason Marquis picked up his 4th win of the season and the 100th win of his career against the team that drafted him in 1996. Marquis went 7 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, 2 BBs, and 3 Ks against the Braves. His groundball to flyball ratio was 13-8. Marquis has 6 quality starts out of 7 so far in 2011. He's only issued 9 BBs in 46 2/3 innings, which comes out to a BB/9 of 1.7.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 1-2 with 2 RBIs against the Rockies. That's the good news. The bad news is Ike rolled his left foot in a collision with David Wright in the 5th inning. He has been diagnosed with a strained left calf and will be reevaluated tomorrow.

Batting 3rd, Ian Kinsler was 1-3 with 2 BBs and 1 run scored against the A's. Could Kinsler be moving down in the order?

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 1-3 with 1 BB, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored against the Padres.

Batting 5th, Danny Valencia was 0-3 with 1 BB against the Tigers. Could Valencia be moving up in the order?

Batting cleanup, Kevin Youkilis was 0-5 against the Blue Jays.

Batting leadoff, Sam Fuld was 0-5 against the Indians. Fuld may be struggling at the plate, but he's still a one-man highlight reel in the field. Just the other day, he robbed Matt Wieters of a HR.

Craig Breslow pitched 1 scoreless inning on 1 hit and 1 BB against the Rangers. The hit he allowed was to Kinsler.

John Grabow pitched 1/3 of an inning against the Cardinals.

Poor Fuld is like three for his last fifty. Ugh!

Congrats to Marquis. His season is quite the story so far.

Hope Ike isn't hurt badly.
