Braun's Streak Snapped

Batting cleanup, Kevin Youkilis was 2-4 with 1 BB, 1 HBP, and 1 double (his 8th) against the Angels. Youk nearly hit a walkoff HR in extra innings.

Batting 7th, Danny Valencia was 1-3 with 1 BB and 1 double (his 5th) against the White Sox. In his last 5 games, Valencia has 4 doubles.

Batting leadoff, Sam Fuld was 1-5 with 1 RBI against the Blue Jays.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 1-4 against the Giants.

Batting leadoff, Ian Kinsler was 0-3 with 1 BB, 1 run scored, and 1 SB (his 6th) against the Mariners.

Batting 3rd in the 1st game of a doubleheader against the Braves, Ryan Braun was 0-4. In the 2nd game, Braun was 0-3. Braun's streak of reaching base safely in 29 consecutive games was snapped.

Jason Marquis picked up his 1st loss of the season. He went 5 innings and gave up 7 runs (6 earned) on 10 hits, 2 BBs, and 2 Ks against the Phillies. Not a good start, but at least his groundball to flyball ratio was 11-4.
