Ausmus Will Call It A Career At Season's End

Ryan Braun was 2-5 with 1 HR (his 16th), 2 RBIs, 1 run scored, and 1 SB (his 13th) against the Nationals. Braun hit a walkoff single that nearly left the yard in the bottom of the 9th to win it for the Brewers.

Danny Valencia was 3-5 with 1 double (his 4th), 1 RBI, and 1 run scored against the Orioles.

Playing in his 1st game since April 8 and just his 2nd game of the season, Brad Ausmus was 1-4 with 1 RBI against the Mets. He now holds the record for most games played (1,952) by a JML, surpassing Shawn Green's mark of 1,951 games played. Ausmus says he plans on retiring when the season is over.

Ian Kinsler was 0-2 with 2 BBs and 1 SB (his 10th) against the Angels. Kinsler's 16-game hitting streak sadly came to an end tonight. It was the 2nd longest hitting streak of his career.

Kevin Youkilis was 1-4 against the Mariners.

Batting 6th, Ike Davis was 1-6 with 1 double (his 19th) and 1 run scored against the Dodgers.

Scott Feldman picked up his 9th loss of the season. He went 5 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, 1 BB, and 0 Ks against the Angels. Hard to believe this start actually lowered his ERA a little.

Baseball won't feel right without Ausmus. It seems like he has been around forever and would play forever.
