Batting 2nd, Kevin Youkilis was 1-4 with 1 BB, 1 HR (his 8th), 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored against the Red Sox. Youk's 3-run blast in the 4th inning was the game-winner for the Pale Hose. Ya think the Red Sox are starting to regret this trade?
Batting 6th, Ike Davis was 1-4 against the Nationals.
Batting leadoff, Ian Kinsler was 0-3 with 2 BBs against the A's.
Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 0-3 against the Cardinals. Braun left the game with a right groin strain. The injury is not considered serious.
Craig Breslow pitched 1 scoreless inning on 1 hit and 1 K against the Reds. It's been a nice bounceback season for the 31-year old southpaw with the Diamondbacks. In 38 2/3 innings, he has a 2.79 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. He also has 36 Ks against just 11 BBs, which is by far the best K/BB ratio of his career (3.27).
Michael Schwimer pitched 2/3 of an inning against the Dodgers.
