Jason Marquis was masterful, picking up his 6th win of the season (4th with the Padres). He went 7 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits, 1 BB, and 8 Ks against the Giants. His groundball to flyball ratio was 11-2. Marquis has 56 Ks against just 17 BBs in 62 innings with the Friers, which comes out to a 3.3 K/BB ratio. He also has a 3.48 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
Michael Schwimer picked up his 2nd win in as many days. He pitched 1 inning and gave up 1 run (0 earned) on 1 BB (IBB) against the Brewers.
