Ike Davis had his left ankle examined today, and the results were not encouraging. In fact, Ike could be facing microfracture ankle surgery if things don't improve, which would end his season. Three weeks from now, Ike will perform some baseball-related activities. An official decision will be made then.
Turns out the protective boot the Mets told Ike to wear could have actually impaired his healing due to a lack of circulation. I really think the Mets' training and medical staff have handled this situation poorly from the very beginning. They just don't seem all that competent. I can almost hear Leonard "Bones" McCoy reprimanding them with, "What is this, the Dark Ages?"
Pinch hitting, Sam Fuld was 1-1 with 1 BB, 1 double (his 13th), 1 run scored, and 1 SB (his 16th) against the Brewers.
Batting leadoff, Ian Kinsler was 1-4 with 1 BB, 1 run scored, and 1 SB (his 15th) against the Astros.
Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 1-4 with 1 RBI against the Rays.
Batting 6th, Danny Valencia was 0-4 against the Twins.
Craig Breslow pitched 1 scoreless inning on 1 hit, 1 BB, and 1 K against the Mets.
