Braun Gets 5-Year Contract Extension

The Brewers signed Ryan Braun to a 5-year, $105 million contract extension with a mutual option for 2021. Braun was already under contract through 2015, so he is now guaranteed $145.5 million through 2020.

Batting 6th, Ike Davis was 1-3 with 1 HR (his 2nd), 2 RBIs, and 1 run scored against the Astros.

Batting leadoff, Sam Fuld was 2-5 with 2 RBIs against the White Sox.

Batting 6th, Danny Valencia was 1-4 with 1 SB (his 1st) against the Orioles.

Batting cleanup, Kevin Youkilis was 0-1 against the Angels. Youk fouled a pitch off his left shin in the 1st inning and was taken out of the game in the 2nd inning. Fortunately, X-rays were negative. However, Terry Francona said that Youk is "pretty sore." Don't be surprised if he sits out the next few games.

Seems Braun will be the richest of your players ever.

Did you ever in your wildest dreams think Fuld would get this much playing time?
