Jason Marquis picked up his league-leading 14th win of the season against the Nationals. He went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 9 hits, 1 BB, and 1 K. His ERA is 3.58. Craig Breslow pitched 1 inning of scoreless relief against the Yankees. He had 1 K. His ERA is 3.98. His WHIP is 1.12.
I may have been a bit harsh when I referred to Jason Hirsh as a reclamation project last month. Hirsh has responded well to his new surroundings in Scranton, PA. He is 2-0 in 3 starts for the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate with a 1.80 ERA and a 1.267 WHIP. Keep proving me wrong, Jason.

Wasn't the prettiest win of the season for Marquis, but it was a win.
Still can't believe the Twins gave up on Breslow.
