Craig Breslow was claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics yesterday, and Aaron Poreda of the White Sox was almost traded to the Padres in a package deal for Jake Peavy.
Josh Whitesell was sent down to AAA Reno. He was 3-26 with 1 double and 5 BBs. Keep in mind that it was only 26 ABs, so it's a small sample size. Personally, I believe this was just a hiccup. Rest assured. He'll be back.
Ryan Braun was 2-4 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI against the Astros. He's hitting .326. His OBP is .451.
Kevin Youkilis was 1-3 with 1 BB, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI against the Blue Jays.
Gabe Kapler was 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI against Breslow's new team.
Ian Kinsler was 1-5 against the Tigers. He swiped his 10th bag of the season.

I thought Breslow only had the one bad outing. Boy, they gave up on him quickly! Whitesell looks good. He'll be back.
