http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3835955 My take: With Pedroia and Youkilis locked up, the Red Sox are poised to be a force in the AL East for years to come. A wise decision by Youk to stick with a winning franchise. And a wise decision by the front office to stick with a proven winner.

Four More Years! Four More Years!
For Kevin Youkilis and the Red Sox. Youkilis has reportedly agreed to a four-year deal worth approximately $40 million. The deal includes an option for a 5th year.

I immediately thought of you, Josh, when I saw this story. Congrats to Youk. He is on an opposing team to my favorite and his style of play is irritating to those that root against his team. But I've been a Fan long enough to know that this is the kind of attribute that makes a great player and a great teammate and I respect that. Good for him for cashing in on his hard work.
Your Bombers look like they're going to dominate on paper. Adding Teixeira to an already potent lineup... scary for other teams.
And the starting rotation has the chance to be the best in baseball. You know what you're going to get out of Sabathia. You need Wang to come back strong. You need Chamberlain to to build up his arm strength for the long haul. And you need Burnett to pitch like he did in the second half of last season. Now, if Pettite would just get his head out of his ass you're good from top to bottom. But even he doesn't, Aceves might be a serviceable replacement.
