Valencia Is A Hitting Machine

Batting 7th, Danny Valencia was 3-4 with 2 doubles (his 15th and 16th) and 1 RBI against the Tigers. Were Valencia to play a full season - at his current pace - he would wind up with 43 doubles. With 204 ABs under his belt, I don't know if we can completely write off his .328 BA.

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 2-4 with 1 BB and 1 run scored against the Reds. Braun finished the month with a sterling line of .424/.496/.586.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 0-3 with 1 BB against the Braves. Despite only hitting .250, Ike posted a .369 OBP in August.

Jason Marquis picked up his 1st win of the season. He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, 3 BBs, and 1 K against the Marlins. Marquis needs just 5 more wins for 100.
