Valencia Is A Hitting Machine

Batting 7th, Danny Valencia was 3-4 with 2 doubles (his 15th and 16th) and 1 RBI against the Tigers. Were Valencia to play a full season - at his current pace - he would wind up with 43 doubles. With 204 ABs under his belt, I don't know if we can completely write off his .328 BA.

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 2-4 with 1 BB and 1 run scored against the Reds. Braun finished the month with a sterling line of .424/.496/.586.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 0-3 with 1 BB against the Braves. Despite only hitting .250, Ike posted a .369 OBP in August.

Jason Marquis picked up his 1st win of the season. He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, 3 BBs, and 1 K against the Marlins. Marquis needs just 5 more wins for 100.

Prognosis Positive

Ian Kinsler underwent an MRI today, which showed "significant improvement." He has been cleared for baseball activities and could go on a minor league rehab assignment later this week.

The Dodgers claimed Rod Barajas off waivers yesterday. Why is this relevant, you ask? It means Brad Ausmus will lose playing time.

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 1-4 with 1 double (his 32nd) and 1 RBI against the Dodgers.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 1-4 with 1 BB and 1 run scored against the Marlins. Ike scored the game-winning run in the 9th inning.

Batting 7th, Danny Valencia was 1-4 against the Rangers.

Former Hurricane Teammates Each Go Deep

Batting 8th, Danny Valencia was 1-3 with 1 HR (his 2nd), 1 RBI, and 1 run scored against the Angels. Valencia has only hit 2 HRs, but they've been loud. First, a grand slam off reigning Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke. Now, an absolute bomb off Cy Young contender Jered Weaver. Who's next, Sabathia?

Batting 6th, Ike Davis was 2-4 against the Pirates.

Sam Fuld was 0-1 against the Braves.

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Braun Homereth And Braun Taketh Away

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 2-4 with 1 BB, 1 HR (his 17th), 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored against the Padres. Believe it or not, this was Braun's 1st HR since July 24. Check out this spectacular play he made!

Batting 7th, Danny Valencia was 1-3 with 1 BB against the White Sox. Over his last 6 games, Valencia is 10 for 22.

Batting 8th, Brad Ausmus was 1-3 against the Rockies. Ted Lilly had his most dominant performance on the mound since 2004. Ausmus must have called a pretty good game, no?

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 0-3 with 1 BB against the Astros. His average had dipped to .240.

Sam Fuld (just called up from AAA) was 0-1 against the Padres.

Batting 5th, Ike Davis was 1-6 with 1 RBI against the Astros. Ike drove in the game-winning run for the Mets in the 14th inning with a sacrifice fly to right. He's been scuffling of late, but he found a way to contribute tonight.

Batting 3rd, Ryan Braun was 1-4 against the Cardinals. Hasn't been right since Tommy Hanson hit him in the elbow back in May...

Scott Feldman pitched 1 inning and gave up 1 run (0 earned) on 1 hit and 1 BB against the Rays.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Breslow Back On Track

J-DL-MLs

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Scott Feldman pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits, 1 BB, and 2 Ks against the A's. Not too bad considering the Rangers needed Feldman to eat up innings in middle relief because his replacement in the rotation, Rich Harden, couldn't get through the 3rd inning.
